Jordan Hanna Scores Fourth Straight OSCAAR Pro Midget Feature Victory

Top Three Pro Midgets at Flamboro Speedway 2017

Even bringing in a previous OSCAAR Super Late Model Champion did nothing to slow down Jordan Hanna as he picked up his fourth straight OSCAAR Pro Midget feature victory on Saturday night at Flamboro Speedway.

Jordan Hanna won the first heat ahead of J.R. Fitzpatrick, Daniel Hawn, Kelly Summers, Brody Rickwood, James Stanley and Rob Summers.

Shawn Paul won the second heat ahead of Craig Pitchell, Brent Kemps, Steve Belfry, Gary Triska, Mackenzie Hamilton, and Cassidy March.

Come feature time, Kelly Summers and J.R. Fitzpatrick would start on the front row, with Fitzpatrick grabbing the early advantage ahead of the field. The first couple of laps proved to be drama filled, with three-wide moves throughout the field as positions changed. Unfortunately, Gary Triska wasn’t a part of the fun, having to pull pit side with a problem.

With five laps in the books, Fitzpatrick led ahead of Daniel Hawn and Jordan Hanna. Hawn looked poised to post his fourth straight podium finish, but a mechanical problem on Lap 7 saw him slow and eventually head into the infield. Meanwhile, Hanna was able to track down Fitzpatrick, taking the top spot on Lap 9.

With 10 laps on the board, Hanna led ahead of Fitzpatrick, Summers, Craig Pitchell, Cassidy Marsh, Brent Kemps, Steve Belfry, Brody Rickwood, James Stanley, Shawn Paul and Mackenzie Hamilton.

Unfortunately, March’s strong run had a hiccup on Lap 11, as he’d go around on the frontstretch ahead of the pack. Thankfully, everybody was able to make evasive moves to avoid March, with only Rickwood spinning around in the aftermath. With 20 laps to go, Hanna led Fitzpatrick, Summers, Kemps, Pitchell, Belfry, Paul, Rickwood, Stanley, March and Hamilton. Hawn also returned on track under the caution, despite being a couple laps down.

The restart saw a short lived battle for the lead between Hanna and Fitzpatrick as Hanna pulled back out front ahead of Fitzpatrick on Lap 12 with Pitchell up to third ahead of Summers and Belfry. Meanwhile, March was making quick work of coming back up through, running sixth as of Lap 13 ahead of Kemps, Paul, Rickwood, Stanley, Hamilton and Hawn.

March continued to move forward, passing Belfrey for fifth on Lap 16. Behind them, Kemps would go three-wide with Paul and Rickwood for the seventh position, with Paul coming out on top ahead of Kemps and Rickwood. Behind them, Stanley continued to run 10th ahead of Hamilton and Hawn.

The climb continued for March as he made his way by Summers with nine laps to go take over the fourth spot. Rickwood then got alongside Kemps for eighth at Lap 22, completing the pass a lap later.

Jordan Hanna led the rest of the way to score his fourth straight feature victory ahead of J.R. Fitzpatrick and Craig Pitchell in their series debuts. Cassidy March finished fourth for his second top-five finish of 2017, followed by Kelly Summers in fifth in her 2017 debut.

Steve Belfry finished sixth, tying his best career finish, followed by Shawn Paul in seventh in his 2017 debut. Brody Rickwood finished eighth for his fourth top-10, followed by Brent Kemps in his 2017 debut. James Stanley finished 10th for his fourth top-10, followed by Mackenzie Hamilton, Daniel Hawn, Gary Triska, and Rob Summers.
