OSCAAR Modified Chase for the Colours at Peterborough Speedway Preview

OSCAAR Modified's at Peterborough Speedway

This weekend, the OSCAAR Modifieds will take to Peterborough Speedway for the Chase for the Colours. The event provides a unique opportunity for all the competitors in the field, as the top-two finishers at the Chase will start the Autumn Colours Classic from the front row in October.

In the midst of his sophomore campaign, Luke Gignas has been consistent all season long, currently sitting third in points with just one finish outside of the top-five. Notably, throughout his OSCAAR career to date, he has only posted two finishes outside of the top-eight in 16 races. He has proven to be fast at Peterborough previously, running up front last July till a late-race spin resulted in an eighth-place finish.

Gary Elliott has been solid this season, scoring a top-10 in each of the six events, including three top-fives. Notably, he has posted 12 top-10’s in his last 15 OSCAAR starts. In his six previous races at Peterborough, he has posted six top-10’s with a best finish of fourth.

Sitting second in points, the season is going pretty well for AJ Emms with a top-five finish in each of the six races this season. Notably, he has posted 13 top-fives in his last 17 OSCAAR starts. He’s done well at Peterborough in the past, scoring three top-fives in four starts, including a victory in last year’s Autumn Colours Classic.

Cliff Hodgkinson hopes to score his third top-10 of 2017 following a career-best sixth place finish last weekend at Flamboro Speedway.

Jase Cornell will hope to score his second straight top-10 as he overcame his team’s early season mechanical issues to place 10th at Flamboro Speedway.

Ken Hayward has an impressive OSCAAR debut at Flamboro, posting a top-five in his first start of the year. If he’s at Peterborough, he could be a good dark horse pick.
