4th in OSCAAR Super Late Model Points – Jamie Richardson

Jamie Richardson

Joining the ranks of super late model competition, Jamie Richardson continued to improve as the year went on and ultimately was rewarded with a fourth-place finish in the standings.

Richardson becoming a new face on the driver’s scene was no surprise, given his family’s history in being former competitor Dave Taylor’s son-in-law.

“Our family has always been around OSCAAR Super Late, whether it’s running our own car or helping other teams out – other teams which we have became really close friends with,” he said. “This year we decided to build another car and got the exciting news that I will be taking the wheel. It’s an honor to me to have a father in law like Dave Taylor to learn from and hope one day be as good as a driver as he is.”

His debut at Flamboro Speedway in June did not go as smoothly as hoped, as he failed to complete all the laps in the first of the pair of features. However, he was able to complete them all in the second one, placing seventh.

He would finish sixth at Sauble Speedway, followed by a ninth at Kawartha Speedway a couple weeks later. His return to Flamboro Speedway in July did not start out smoothly as he was involved in an incident on Lap 2 of the first 25-lap feature, but managed to walk away with a pair of sevenths.

Kicking off August at Peterborough Speedway, he put together a pair of solid features with a sixth and a seventh. He then returned to the patch in October, rounding out the year with a 10th despite going for a quick spin in one of the qualifiers.
