3rd in Pro Midget Points – Brody Rickwood

Brody Rickwood

With consistent solid finishes from May to October, Brody Rickwood put together an impressive season en route to a third-place finish in the OSCAAR Pro Midget points.

Making his series debut at Peterborough Speedway, Rickwood was fast from the beginning with a fifth-place finish. He then backed it up at Flamboro Speedway, scoring a sixth.

Kicking off the summer at Sauble beach, Rickwood did not slow down, but rather improved a little more for a fourth. Returning to Flamboro a couple weeks later, he battled back from a mid-race spin to place eighth. It seemed initial trips back to speedways did not pan out as planned, as heading back to Peterborough saw him score an eighth and seventh.

Looking for a turnaround, he would head to the tight confines of Grand Bend Speedway, focused straight ahead. The pair of features went solidly, resulting in an eighth and sixth. He then rounded out August with a sixth at Sauble, eighth at Flamboro, and sixth at Flamboro.

Entering the final stretch of the year, the No. 83 Elgin Chrysler, Sheri Lawrence from Royal LePage, Mac Tools, and Gateway Customs Broker Pro Midget pilot returned back to the top-five with an impressive fourth-place finish at Grand Bend Speedway.

He would then finish 11th at Flamboro following a mid-race spin, followed by a ninth at Peterborough to round out the season.

On top of thanking his sponsors for their support, Rickwood also gives a huge thanks to his parents, and friend Courey Lawrence for their help on and off the track.

On behalf of OSCAAR, congratulations to Rickwood on a great season. We look forward to seeing you back out in 2018 with your new ride.
