Brian MacDonald Ready to Step Up to Pro Sprints

After having experienced success in the OSCAAR ranks previously, Brian MacDonald is hopeful for continuing that in the OSCAAR Pro Sprints for 2018.

“My thoughts entering the season are I hope all teams have a safe and successful season,” he said. “My goals and expectations for this season coming up are to get as many wins as possible over my dad as he plans his return for this upcoming season.”

MacDonald made his name familiar in the OSCAAR ranks two years ago in 2016, ranking second in the OSCAAR Midget standings with eight top-fives. While last year he was kept away from the track, he is stoked to be part of the competition this year.

While hopeful to be part of the fray up front, he knows it won’t be easy, competing against the likes of Daniel Hawn, James Stanley and Rob Summers.

“I think the club is growing very quickly going into 2018,” he said. “It hasn’t taken long for these guys running the show to get things rolling. I think it shows how dedicated they are to all of this and I think that dedication will go a long way towards building a successful series for years to come”

Although he admits that Flamboro is his all-time favourite track, the opportunity to open the Pro Sprint schedule at Sunset Speedway on May 20 is welcoming in seeing how fast the cars will be on the smooth track.
