5th in OSCAAR Pro Sprint Points: Rob Summers

5th pro sprint rob summers

With consistency from the start of the season to the last lap, Rob Summers was able to put together a solid campaign to finish fifth in the year-end OSCAAR Pro Sprint standings.

Making his first start of the season at Sunset Speedway’s Spring Velocity, Summers kept his nose out of trouble all-day, running mid-pack to cross the line with a seventh-place finish. Unfortunately, the following weekend wouldn’t go as smoothly as contact with the frontstretch wall ended his night early at Flamboro Speedway.

Making the trip to Peterborough Speedway a week later, Summers put all focus on getting his year back on-track, and did exactly that with a fifth-place finish. However, the bad luck would crept back up again when the series took on Sauble Speedway with mechanical issues seeing him unable to take the green flag.

He would make the necessary repairs, ready to take on the tight confines of Grand Bend Speedway a month later. He ran both of the features cleanly, including leading a couple laps, before placing sixth in both. He kept the success rolling into Sunset Speedway, pacing the opening laps of the first feature, before scoring finishes of seventh and sixth on the night.

With the speed back in the No. 31 Pro Sprint, he was able to turn his luck around at Flamboro with an eighth and sixth when the series returned for Frostoberfest. Summers then capped his year off with a pair of sixths at Peterborough Speedway’s Autumn Colours Classic.

The success on-track is certainly nice to see for Summers after the dedication that he has shown the division by being there from the beginning, and helping out with the golf cart throughout the season.
