Andy Kamrath Scores Third Victory of Season at Delaware Speedway

LONDON, Ontario — Taking the lead following a wreck at the start of the event, Andy Kamrath led all 40 laps en route to winning the Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC OSCAAR Modifieds presented by Just Foam It feature at Delaware Speedway on Saturday.

Craig Downey won the first heat, followed by A.J. Emms, Dale Reinhart, Marshall Schrenk, Chris Milwain, Bryan Batty, Mike Hearty, Paul Townsend, and Wally Wilson.

Andy Kamrath was victorious in the second qualifier ahead of Jason Keen, T.J. Edwards, Norman Newman, Kelly Balson, Mark Sammutt, Coltin Everingham, Luke Gignac, Ryan Dick, and Jase Cornell.

Come feature time, Craig Downey started pole in front of Norman Newman, Andy Kamrath, Dale Reinhart, Marshall Schrenk, A.J. Emms, Jason Keen, T.J. Edwards, Kelly Balson, Chris Milwain, Mark Summutt, Bryan Batty, Jeff Walt, and more.

The chaos started on the opening lap with Downey getting loose on the bottom of the track, coming up and getting into Newman, turning him around in front of Newman and Schrenk. Downey was put to the back as an involved car, while the other three were done for the event.

The reset at the front of the field would put Kamrath and Emms on the front row, with Kamrath grabbing the initial advantage ahead of Emms, Edwards, Keen, Balson, Milwain and Summutt. However, the yellow flag returned on Lap 3 for Townsend going around in turn two. With 37 laps to go, Walt ran eighth in front of Batty, Hearty, Everingham, Gignac, Dick, and Cornell.

Kamrath got another good restart ahead of Emms, Edwards, and Keen, with Milwain getting by Balson for fifth. Edwards would challenge Emms for second going into turn three on Lap 5, though ultimately fell back in line. Outside of the top-five, Summutt worked his way up to sixth in front of Batty, Balson, Everingham, Dick, Gignac, Downey, and Hearty.

As Kamrath pulled away from the field, the rest of the top-five remained tightly packed together all the way through the halfway mark of the event, with Edwards continuing to get runs into the corner for the runner-up spot. His persistence paid off, as Edwards would get by Emms for second with 23 laps on the board.

Andy Kamrath kept it on cruise control ahead of the field, maintaining a healthy advantage all the way to the checkered flag for the victory in front of T.J. Edwards and A.J. Emms.

The runner-up for T.J. Edwards allows him to maintain his points lead, 12 markers ahead of Jason Keen with two races remaining.
