Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC OSCAAR Modifieds presented by Just Foam It Delaware Speedway Preview

INNISFIL, Ontario — After seeing a first-time feature winner at Sunset Speedway, the stars of the Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC OSCAAR Modifieds presented by Just Foam It are ready for the next event to close out the season, with a trip to the half-mile of Delaware Speedway.

As we glance through the field, there are several drivers to keep an eye on.

Kelly Balson has been consistent, as evident by 10 top-five’s and 15 top-10’s in his last 19 series appearances. It’s a trend he hopes to continue at Delaware Speedway as he enters the weekend second in points.

Jase Cornell hopes to turn things around, as he has failed to score a top-10 in the last three series events. Notably, he has scored a pair of 10ths in his previous two Delaware appearances.

T.J. Edwards has certainly proven you cannot count him out, as he heads into this weekend as the points leader. He will make his first tour appearance at Delaware Speedway following a runner-up at Sunset Speedway.

A.J. Emms enters this weekend looking for redemption, after finishing 20th last weekend at Sunset Speedway. Consistency is normally the name of the game for the driver of the No. 14 Modified, as evident by only eight finishes outside of the top-eight in his past 39 series starts. When it comes to Delaware Speedway, he has scored five top-five’s in seven appearances, including a victory in July 2019.

Coltin Everingham will be making his eighth start behind the wheel of a modified, hopeful of turning things around after having to rebound from an incident for a 12th at Fall Velocity. He knows how to get the job done – as evident by a career-best fifth earlier this year, but has yet to run the open-wheel cars at Delaware in his career.

It’s been a tale of two tapes for Andy Kamrath this year, as he’s either sitting in victory lane, or watching the checkered flag fly from the sidelines due to mechanical gremlins. If things go smoothly, the No. 89c should be fast, even though it’s Kamrath’s first trip to Delaware in a modified.

Jason Keen knows how to run well at Delaware Speedway, scoring finishes of second and ninth in his last two appearances. He also currently has scored a top-10 in six of his last eight tour appearances.

Norman Newman will be looking for a rebound after being involved in a mid-race incident at Sunset’s Fall Velocity. He has finished fifth and ninth in his previous pair of Delaware Speedway appearances.

Dale Reinhart enters this weekend hoping to keep the momentum rolling following a third at Sunset Speedway, marking his 12th top-10 in his last 13 series starts. He is also your defending track champion, having won in the series’ last appearance at Delaware Speedway in 2019.

Wally Wilson hopes to be in the thick of the action this weekend, hopeful for his second straight top-10 finish after a 10th at Sunset Speedway. He has yet to run a modified race at Delaware, though.

Marshall Schrenk enters this weekend with momentum after picking up his first career checkered flag on the tour at Sunset Speedway. He has a bunch of laps at the half-mile, having battled there all summer long behind the wheel of a late model.

Luke Gignac hopes to keep the positive momentum rolling after scoring a ninth at Sunset Speedway for his third straight top-10 performance. In each of his five features at Delaware, he posted a top-eight finish, including a track-best fourth.

Paul Townsend will look to turn things around in his first tour appearance at Delaware Speedway, hoping the bad luck that has plagued him for the first four races disappears.

Jade Franklin and Craig Downey could be a pair of drivers to keep an eye on, as they enter with momentum following top-10 performances at Sunset Speedway. Franklin’s was even more surprising, given it was his series debut.

These drivers, as well as others, are certainly looking forward to making the trip to Delaware Speedway. It promises to be a busy day of racing, with both the Knightworks Design OSCAAR Hot Rods and APC Auto Parts United Late Models of Ontario Tour in action.

The 2021 OSCAAR Modified season is sponsored by Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC, Just Foam It, Scott Reinhart Trailer Sales Ltd., The Fyre Place & Patio Shop, American Racer, and Grisdale Race Products.
